Where is the
MAGIC? Lately, it seems people are
settling for less than they want and could have.
Many people today are living lives of not-so-quiet
desperation,
experiencing unexpected and stressful events
in an unsettled world in need of real solutions.
Creativity
Solves Problems:
The best solutions to personal, economic,
professional, political or other problems come
from human creativity. There are as many different
types of creativity as there are stars in the sky.
What comes easily for me might be difficult for
you, and vice versa. Yet I believe that human
beings are naturally creative. And creativity
generates magic.
First,
we need to think about what motivates us. One way
to get in touch with this is to figure out what
gets you riled up. That's a good indicator of
something you are passionate and excited about.
Second,
we need to take a look at the difference between
abilities and gifts (talents). Abilities are
learned skills. Gifts and Talents are
inherent; those things that feel natural and
come easily to us. For example, I have the ability
to find and implement solutions to business
problems, yet I have a gift (talent) for
communication. Often, gifts (talents) go unnoticed
and under-developed. Third, we need
to explore our insightful creativity. Creativity
by itself is great, and when creativity is focused
on understanding different perspectives, it
becomes Insightful Creativity.
Motivation + Ability +
Gifts (Talents) = Insightful Creativity
(MAGIC)
It is when we become motivated to combine our
ability with our talent that creativity is born
and real magic happens.
Creativity involves breaking out
of established patterns in order to look at things
in a different way." ~ Edward de
